Have ordered Rand, Euros and Pesos, all goodSandra
I was very pleased with the cost and speed of the transaction with Travelex I had to obtain Mexican pesos less than a week before leaving for Mexico. There were no outlets in my area so I used the UPS delivery and the cost was reasonable and the delivery time was as promised. Definitely will use again when next foreign trip arises.Andrew froelich
This is a great service. I Ordered online, it was the going transfer rate, and it was delivered in two days. Now how convenient is that. It was most convenient for me. It meant that I didn't have to waste time at the airport at the money exchange counter. I was able to be on my way , and start my vacation immediately.JULIEANN ARBOLINO
I always purchase currency online for pick up at the store. There is a slightly better price. This time I was able to get miles on UA equal to my purchase price. Location is convenient to work. The clerk is always friendly. Completing the pick up take relatively little time.dn
I appreciate how convenient the service was to order online and receive a email when the currency was ready for pick up. The office staff was very friendly and professional; providing exceptional customer service.Dorothy V
Good service to have for foreign travel, although it's fairly complex, as in you have to provide them with everything, including the kitchen sink, in order to purchase a card! Once purchased, it's easy to reload!Amy North
It was fast and simple. Thank you.Luciano M Rodriguez Jr
I was at a resort town in Mexico, only one ATM accepted the Travelex card. Small communities are maybe not the best place to test Travelex. Now that I know this and where/when I can access machine I will plan better. This machine was part of a large banking corporation.Jennifer Mestnik
You can convert one currency into another using an exchange rate. For example, an exchange rate of 15 Mexican Pesos to one US dollar means that you could convert 15 Mexican Pesos into one US dollar – or one US dollar into 15 Mexican Pesos. Pretty simple! In reality, you’ll get a slightly different exchange rate depending on whether you’re buying or selling a currency. To get to grips with the different kinds of exchange rate you might hear about, see our Currency Jargon Explained section.
A company providing foreign currency needs to cover the additional costs that come from supplying people with currency. The cost of supplying foreign currency online are much less, so you’ll usually get a better rate online. If you leave buying currency to the last minute, you’ll probably end up paying over the odds, so it makes sense to plan ahead.
Currencies constantly move up and down against each other because they’re traded on financial markets. Market changes can be caused by supply and demand, as well as by political and economic events.
You can’t predict when exchange rates will go up or down. But our currency converter above will show you historical rates, to give you an idea of how the current conversion rate compares to the past few months or year.
You can convert your US dollars into over 45 currencies with Travelex, either online or at one of our many stores across the US.
