It was convenient to get money to my daughter in Europe but the exchange rate is not great. You don't have to pay a fee though every time you load the card though. But to get the card in your child's name they must be 18.

Ordered my cash on line and it was easy after I learned how the transactions worked. Once I got the hang of it was easy. Cash arrived several days sooner than projected. Picked up the cash at the local Travelex and the clerk was exceedingly helpful and made it a breeze to just stop and pick up my currency.

Easy to Use and Reliable

It's relatively easy to use and offers lots of options to ensure that you have the money you need - in the form you need - for any worldwide travel. I don't trust anyone else for my travel money needs.

the lady at the kiosk was a bit rude

the lady at the kiosk at the king of prussia mall was a bit rude. other than that it was fine. only reason you got a 3 instead of a 5. i would recommend this just not that location if that old white lady is still there. updated: i decided to give a 5 because technically this review is for the company as a whole, not the individual location. no extra fees which is great except is you want to ship for less than $1000 worth which would be $9.99.

Had no problem ordering the euros

Frequently asked questions

  • How do you convert currencies?

You can convert one currency into another using an exchange rate. For example, an exchange rate of 15 Mexican Pesos to one US dollar means that you could convert 15 Mexican Pesos into one US dollar – or one US dollar into 15 Mexican Pesos. Pretty simple! In reality, you’ll get a slightly different exchange rate depending on whether you’re buying or selling a currency. To get to grips with the different kinds of exchange rate you might hear about, see our Currency Jargon Explained section.

  • Why do different places convert currencies at different rates?

A company providing foreign currency needs to cover the additional costs that come from supplying people with currency. The cost of supplying foreign currency online are much less, so you’ll usually get a better rate online. If you leave buying currency to the last minute, you’ll probably end up paying over the odds, so it makes sense to plan ahead.

  • Why do currency conversion rates change?

Currencies constantly move up and down against each other because they’re traded on financial markets. Market changes can be caused by supply and demand, as well as by political and economic events.

  • Is there a good time to convert currency?

You can’t predict when exchange rates will go up or down. But our currency converter above will show you historical rates, to give you an idea of how the current conversion rate compares to the past few months or year.

  • How do I convert my money?

You can convert your US dollars into over 45 currencies with Travelex, either online or at one of our many stores across the US.
