Traveling around Canada

By plane

Boasting a total area of 9.98 million km2, Canada is a large country, so you may find it most convenient to hit all of your favorite spots via plane. Air Canada and WestJet are two of the major airlines and there are several regional airline options including Canadian North serving Nunavut and the Northwest Territories and Air Creebec in Quebec and Ontario.

By bus/train

If you prefer to travel the country on land, Canada has an extensive bus system with big name operators including Coach Canada and Greyhound as well as smaller regional companies. Several providers offer cross-border service between Canada and the United States. Additionally, VIA Rail runs trains from coast to coast with local service in between.

By car

In addition to metered taxis in the cities, one of the best ways to explore Canada is via car. As long as you avoid the notorious traffic in more dense and metropolitan areas, you will enjoy a smooth ride and beautiful views along the way.
