Mobile App Terms and Conditions

Use of the Travelex Mobile App

This Mobile App ("Mobile App"), is operated by Travelex Currency Services Inc. on behalf of itself and its holding companies, subsidiaries and affiliates (together, "Travelex" or "us" or "our"). Access to the Mobile App allows you to access an i-framed version of the Travelex website,, and use of the Mobile App is provided only in accordance with these Terms and Conditions as well as our Terms of Use ("TOU") and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated herein by reference. By using the Travelex App you indicate your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and you agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept and agree to the Terms and Conditions set forth below, please refrain from using the Mobile App.

Third Party Services Available Through the Mobile App

The following Third Party Sites can be accessed through the Mobile App (which may change without notice):

(a) Weather Underground, Inc. Application Programming Interface. Data for average weather conditions is supplied by Weather Underground, Inc. Terms and Conditions.

(b) World Weather Online Application Programming Interface. Live weather data is supplied by World Weather Online.

(c) Eventful Inc. Application Programming Interface. Event data is provided by Eventful Inc.

(d) Columbus Travel Media Limited. Travel guides are provided by Columbus Travel Media Limited, copyright © Columbus Travel Media Ltd 2011,

(e) U.S. Department of State. Travel information and alerts provided by U.S. Department of state.

Data Available Through the Mobile App

(a) The Mobile App is currently available to mobile devices running the Apple iOS Operating System. The Mobile App is provided over the internet and mobile networks and Travelex has no control over the availability of the Mobile App. In order to access the Mobile App, you must have a mobile communications device with paid access to a participating carrier and otherwise have access to a mobile communications network through which the applicable Mobile App are made available, and any carrier service, such as a data plan, necessary to both access and download content and engage in messaging services.

(b) Travelex and its sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for unavailability of the Mobile App, or any difficulty or inability to download or access content or any other communication system failure which may result in the Mobile App being unavailable.

(c) Your mobile communications carrier's normal messaging, data and other rates and fees will apply to your use of the Mobile App. You should check with your carrier to find out what plans are available and how much they cost. Your carrier may prohibit or restrict certain mobile apps and our Mobile App may be incompatible with your carrier or mobile device.

(d) By accessing the Mobile App you agree that we may communicate with you regarding Travelex Services by SMS, MMS, text message or other electronic means to your mobile device and that certain information about your usage of the Mobile App will be communicated to us. For more information about the types of information we collect from users of the Mobile App, please see our Privacy Policy.

(e) You represent and warrant to Travelex that you are an authorized user of the mobile devices providing access to the Mobile App and that you are authorized to enter into this Agreement on behalf of the subscriber of the mobile communications carrier for the device.

(f) You agree that in connection with the Mobile App for which you are registered, we may send communications to your mobile device. If you have registered for Mobile App, you agree to notify us of any changes to your mobile number.

(g) Certain functions of the Mobile App are available to use when you are not connected to your data provider, but you should be aware that the information displayed, including currency prices, will not be live or real time information and may differ from the real time information.

(h) The Mobile App allows you to set an alerts service (the “Alerts”) where you can request certain currency alerts. The Alerts are an ‘opt in’ service that you can choose to set in the Mobile App or your phone. The Alerts available are a notification of the number of days to you departure; a notification if a particular currency reaches a particular range; and a notification if a particular currency reaches a particular rate. It is up to you to set the number of days, currency, rate and range.

(i) By listing information relevant to travel to various destinations, Travelex does not represent or warrant that travel to such destinations is safe, advisable or without risk. Travelex is not liable for damages or losses that may result from travel to such destinations. You are responsible for making your own plans, conducting your own research and you travel at your own risk.

(g) The Alerts can be configured within the Mobile App under the 'settings' section, or under the settings function of your phone.


(a) From time to time we may issue updates to the Mobile App which may affect your use of the Mobile App. These will be made available through the Apple App Store and we recommend that you download and install all updates issued. We do not accept any liability for loss of use or loss of access to the Mobile App on the issuance of an update.

(b) From time to time we may send you push notifications relating to the Mobile App and services provided. Such notifications may include badges, sounds or custom text alerts. Notifications can be configured within the Mobile App under the ‘settings’ section, or under the settings section of your phone.
