Give the gift of global adventure
Travelex launches customizable currency gift card Nov. 20

Date: Nov 19, 2007

For those who want to give their favorite jet-setter theatre tickets in London or cocktails in Cancun, Travelex is launching the perfect packaging, just in time for the holidays. The currency exchange specialist will offer a customizable gift card, featuring 14 global destinations and seven travel adventures.

This interactive gift card offers a more personal and unique take on the traditional gift certificate or cash: an infinite number of global adventure possibilities.

A 2006 Travelocity poll revealed that shopping and cultural activities, such as shows, concerts and museum trips, rank in the top five vacation activities. And according to the Washington Post, "people have far more stuff than they used to, which makes getting a truly unique gift less likely." Travelex's currency card is the perfect way to gift-wrap a memorable trip activity for the person who has everything.

The card features check boxes to indicate the traveler's global destination and the gift - the giver simply chooses the illustration for a round of golf, a spa trip, a shopping spree, or other travel adventures. Gift-givers can also choose to fill in their own destination and unique gift. Foreign currency is enclosed inside the card, saving the recipients the time of converting currency themselves.

Cards and your currency of choice are available at Travelex locations in malls, banks and airports (partial list below), beginning Tuesday, Nov. 20, for $4.95 per card. Currency exchange rates and fees apply to currency purchases.

Note to the media: sample card attached.
