Travelex supports the British Lions with South African Rand offer

0% Commission on airport purchases of South African Rand

Date: July 03, 2009

To celebrate the British Lions Tour, Travelex has launched a 0% commission offer on South African Rand on purchases of £300 or more, for all fans using a Cash Passport.

The promotion ties in with the launch of Travelex’s South African Rand Cash Passport and is valid on selected dates over a three week period to coincide with fans flying out for the British Lions test fixtures.

Sports fans following the British Lions or holidaymakers seeking some South African sunshine can take advantage of the 0% commission by purchasing their currency on the new South African Rand Cash Passport Card. The offer is valid at all Heathrow and Gatwick terminals as well as Glasgow airport.

The South African Rand Cash Passport is the newest addition to the Travelex prepaid card offering, which is also available in Sterling, Euro and US Dollar. Using a pre-paid card is the most secure way to carry money abroad and also allows you to lock in your rate at time of purchase, meaning holiday-makers won’t be stung by any hidden fees or charges.

Key benefits:

  • Travelex Cash Passport is much safer and secure then cash
  • You can load currency online, meaning you can take advantage of Travelex.co.uk’s online Price Promise and lock in the best rate on the day for your Euros, Dollars and South African Rand.
  • Cash Passport is competitively priced with no activation or set up fee and no load or reload fee. Holiday-makers have the option of receiving a free additional card and all balance enquiries are completely free.
  • The card is ideal for gap-years and student travel as it is so secure, flexible and discreet. If parents take out an additional card they also know they can reload it if their son/daughter runs out of money while away – a much easier way to of getting money overseas in an emergency than a bank transfer.
